Church
Initiatives

As you and your church find ways to care for the vulnerable around you, we’re here
to provide you with accessible, fun, and practical ways for you to take action.

“The gospel of Christ shows believers that we are not the rescuers of these children – we are the rescued. We have so lavishly been loved by Christ in our despair and rescued from our sin. As a result, we are compelled to care for the orphan, the widow, the poor, the needy, and the alien.”

— Herbie Newell,
President & Executive Director

The Church is “Plan A” for glorifying God, making disciples, and spreading His name to the nations, and there are many ways that, as Christ’s Bride, the Church accomplishes this mission. Throughout the narrative of Scripture, God has consistently commanded His people to care for the vulnerable as a way of demonstrating His character and His gospel to the world. We believe that every Christ-follower has a role to care for orphans, widows, and the defenseless as an avenue to proclaim the gospel.

At Lifeline, we hold high the truth that the Church is the Bride of Christ, and we want to serve the Bride by coming alongside local churches to resource them to proclaim the gospel through care for orphaned and vulnerable children. Whether it be through adoption, foster care, orphan care, or education and counseling, our mission is accomplished when we help churches live out James 1:27 in their communities and to the ends of the earth.
