The Local Church is Changing Lives

Sarah and Mark* attended Families Count, Lifeline’s family restoration and preservation ministry for parents seeking permanency with their children. Both Sarah and Mark gave their lives to the Lord after the last session. During graduation, Mark knelt and proposed to Sarah! They joined the church shortly after, were baptized, and became a part of a community group. The women of the church put together an amazing wedding for them, including a reception and, later, a photo album.

Sarah and Mark, trapped in a dysfunctional living environment, found assistance from the church. Not only did the congregation facilitate the purchase of the car they were diligently repaying, ensuring consistent transportation, but they also collaborated with Sarah to secure near-full-time employment. Mark’s disability payments, combined with their newfound stability allowed them to finally secure an apartment of their own. The church, along with a local nonprofit, have come alongside them to furnish their new apartment, marking the first time in their lives that they experienced a stable living environment. The church’s commitment extended beyond material support, with the women of the church offering housekeeping guidance and assisting in setting up a budget, empowering Mark and Sarah to save for their future.

Mark and Sarah just received the news that they will have unsupervised visits with their children. While there are still several hurdles to overcome before reunification, their court date marks a significant opportunity for Mark and Sarah to move forward for the first time in their lives.

Families Count provides a crucial platform for local churches to minister to broken families, facilitating the restoration process. We invite you to join us in prayer for their ongoing journey towards restoration and reunification. Through your support, Lifeline can continue to help even more families such as this one.
