Melissa Akins

I’m Melissa Akins. I was born and raised in Pullman, WA and attended Washington State University where I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. I also met my husband, Jared, at WSU. We have two teenage boys that keep our life exciting. I joined Lifeline through the merger with A Child’s Hope Spokane and officially became a staff member in December, 2022. I currently work as the Administrative Assistant for the WA Foster Care Program.

What I am doing on a perfect weekend evening.

On a perfect weekend, I’m watching fresh snow fall outside and spending time laughing with my family.

Interesting fact about you.

I’ve hunted caribou in Alaska.

What do you do when you are not at Lifeline?

I love to hike and ski. My favorite place in the world is Canon Beach, OR.

Favorite scripture.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” Isaiah 26:3
