Ken Smit

I joined Lifeline in June of 2023 as the Senior Director of Major Gifts. I reside in Yankton, South Dakota, with my wife, Kim, with very close ties to Sioux Center, Iowa which is our other home. I have been active with being a volunteer EMT for 38 years, (retired), an active member of Centerpoint Church, and a very active grandpa to 6 grandkids that keep us very busy. My family consists of 4 children that are all married with most of them living very close. One of my sons lives with his family in Austin, TX. I am an encourager to those that need some help with their walk with the Lord, and will take the time to listen and chat with them about their faith journey.

What I am doing on a perfect weekend evening.

I love to hunt, spend time with family boating, attending sporting events, and grandkids activities.

Interesting fact about you.

I love Corvette’s.

What do you do when you are not at Lifeline?

I enjoy waterskiing, hunting, driving my Corvette, and spending time with my family.

Favorite scripture.

Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
