Timeline for South Carolina Foster Care Licensure

1.Attend an Info Meeting or Pre-Apply

Join an information meeting about foster care, family restoration & wrap around care. Get started today by scrolling to the bottom of the page to view upcoming info meetings, or click the button above to pre-apply today!

2.Start Your Home Study

Your home study will begin with a Welcome Call and Orientation Interview before starting with your paperowork, in home consultations, and inspections.

3.Attend Training

At any point in your home study process, you can attend our 2-day pre-service training.

4.License Approval

Once your home study is complete, your Lifeline case worker will submit your application to SC DSS for your license to be approved.

5.Wait for Placement

After you are approved from the state, the next step is to wait until you are placed with a child who needs your care and love of Christ.
