There are at least 20 million orphaned and vulnerable children in India, the second-most populous country in the world. Located in South Asia, India’s population is about 82% Hindu, 14% Islamic, 2% Christian and 2% Sikh.
How We Help
(un)adopted® partners with two ministries in India — STEPS Home in Chennai and Hannah Krupa Child Care Center in Bangalore. STEPS Home is a girls’ home founded in 2007 and currently cares for 18 orphaned or vulnerable girls. Our partners, The Manogaroms, started the home because of a deep desire to care for the least of these and saw a severe need within their country. At the home, the girls receive love, care, an education, healthy nutrition and most importantly, hear the Word of the Lord. The Hannah Krupa Child Care Center serves about 120 children in a slum area of Bangalore. The center offers a meal, tutoring after school and allows children (and their families) to hear the Word of the Lord and have the opportunity to attend church services.
