Lifeline Children’s Services Celebrates the Introduction of the ADOPT Act

December 11, 2025: Lifeline Children’s Services celebrates the introduction of the ADOPT Act, introduced by U.S. Senators Katie Britt (R-AL) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN). This important legislation protects adoptive families, children, and expectant mothers from exploitation by unlicensed adoption intermediaries and ensures that adoption providers and attorneys operate only in states where they are properly licensed.

As an organization committed to serving families throughout the adoption process and walking alongside women facing unexpected or traumatic pregnancies, we view this bill as a meaningful step toward safeguarding those we serve. It strengthens protections for families and reinforces the compassionate care women deserve as they thoughtfully consider the best options for themselves and their child.

We encourage federal lawmakers to advance this bill, recognizing its vital role in protecting expectant mothers and prospective adoptive parents and in preserving adoption as a trustworthy, life-affirming option for children in need of loving homes.
