Georgia Family Therapist

Type: Begins on commission; will grow into Full Time role.

Position Summary: 

Provides Biblically-based and professionally-relevant therapy to pre/post-adoption and foster care families.   

Essential Duties:

  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners 
  • Actively participates on the team in a manner aligned with scripture including, but not limited to, praying for and with other team members, sharing scripture in daily activities and leadership, modeling the character of Jesus Christ in interactions with team and any external clients, partners, vendors, etc.  
  • Disciples ministry partners and clients.  
  • Aligns team dynamics, internal & external processes, and final product of team’s work with Biblical principles and with Lifeline’s Core Values 
  • Maintains active caseload of families by providing counseling, therapy and support.   
  • Strives to maintain relevance in therapy by securing and maintaining training in at least three therapy styles, as established in annual evaluations (achieved through attendance of one training per year as resources are available and clinical staff meetings), as well as necessary CE requirements for license maintenance.  
  • Attends Clinical Staff meetings and prepares for monthly Clinical Staff meetings as directed by the Senior Family Therapist.   
  • Maintains a regular audit of current publications and makes recommendations to the Senior Family Therapist regarding relevant material.    
  • Participates in weekly or bi-weekly calls as needed with the Senior Family Therapist  
  • Maintains relevant licenses and/or certifications and state-required annual training hours 
  • Assists in ministry-related events as available, including the annual retreat, banquet, and anniversary celebrations – welcomed, but required 
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, solving all disputes in a Biblically prescribed fashion. 
  • Represents the ministry in a professional manner in and away from the office. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive team.

Minimum Requirements

Education:  Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy 
Experience:  At least 2 years work in child-placing environment  
Licensure: 
  • If Counselor – maintain LPC licensure or equivalent as determined by state regulations  
  • If Social Worker – maintain LICSW licensure or equivalent as determined by state regulations  
  • If LMFT- maintain licensure or equivalent as determined by state regulations  

Receives and participates in regular supervision as required by licensure.   

Other:  TBRI certified, preferred 

Office Environment:

State office location unless outside the guidelines of the Remote Worker Policy
