His Redeeming Hand

As we journey through each day of the Advent season, we’ve gathered special stories from Lifeline families, staff, and friends to share with you, testifying to how the hand of the Lord and the Character of Christ have been magnified through their children and in their families…

Our God can do anything. He imaged this world and spoke it into being. He knit it all with intricate detail and stunning vastness. Yet, our all-knowing, creative, and loving Father allowed suffering, despair, and hopelessness to run through all that which He made.

We were hit with this brokenness, this suffering, when we first met our daughter. Our greatest privilege, though, is that we have also seen God’s healing and redeeming love in her life. We have witnessed how the Lord has brought beauty from her brokenness and breathed life into her frail body. The Lord is redeeming her early years of hopelessness and pain with healing, joy, laughter, connection, and love.

God’s redeeming hand, His unique ability to bring life from death, to bring good from what’s bad – proof that He really can do anything. And it’s our joy to see this on display with each new day.

“…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:3
