Serving Moldova Through Lifeline

Moldova is a small, landlocked country with a largely rural population and a complex post-Soviet history. Since gaining independence in 1991, Moldova has worked to strengthen its social systems, yet it remains one of the poorest countries in Europe. Economic hardship, labor migration, and recent regional instability have placed ongoing strain on families, particularly in rural communities. As a result, many children and vulnerable families experience chronic poverty, increasing the risk of family separation and social exclusion. Despite these challenges, there are meaningful opportunities across Moldova to support children and families at risk through community-based care and family strengthening efforts. Global Orphan Care partners with like-minded ministries that are serving vulnerable children and families throughout Moldova.

Christian Alliance for Moldova Without Orphans (ACMO)

The Christian Alliance for Moldova Without Orphans (ACMO) is a national coalition founded in 2017 to ensure vulnerable children in Moldova grow up in safe, loving, and permanent families rather than institutions. Uniting churches and childs erving organizations, ACMO promotes adoption and family based care, equips caregivers and church leaders, and engages in advocacy for systemic change. Through prevention, family strengthening, and intentional care for caregivers, ACMO is helping build a sustainable, Christcentered movement that keeps children in families whenever possible.
