In biblical times, when a city’s walls developed a breach, the security of the city and its people were at stake. To “stand in the gap” meant someone protected the city by guarding and helping repair the wall. This defender literally stood in the gap to protect and provide for the vulnerable.
Across the world, there are vulnerable children who need defenders to stand in the gap for them. Their efforts make an eternal impact for children in need.
G – Give. Make a one-time donation or set up an easy monthly donation for continued impact. You can also give toward specific needs.
A – Advocate. One way to advocate is by sharing on social media about children waiting for their forever families. Every Wednesday, we share about a child in need on our Facebook and Instagram accounts @lifelinechild. Families that pursue the adoption of the featured child are even eligible for a $500 scholarship. You can also advocate for the vulnerable by purchasing one of our T-shirts to display your partnership with Lifeline. Check out Lifeline’s new shirts, and share them with your network of family and friends.
P – Pray. Pray for international adoptions and the disruptions from COVID-19 — impacting families in process; children who are waiting; and families as they travel or those that are unable to travel. Pray for domestic ministries, as our counselors serve women in unexpected pregnancies. Pray for (un)adopted® partners, as they care for their international communities impacted by COVID-19. Pray for our Education & Counseling team and the children and families we serve — current realities recall trauma and extra challenges in some families.
Join us every Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. CDT for a quick 7-minute prayer time led by our partners in ministry.
Tune in to Facebook Live every Monday at 11:30 a.m. CDT for prayer led by Lifeline President & Executive Director Herbie Newell.
