Kemonia Brown

Kemonia “Moe” joined Lifeline in January of 2020. She is from Hoover, Alabama and serves on our Counseling Team as a Family Therapist. Kemonia attended Troy University and received her Bachelors in Science. She majored in Psychology with a minor in Leadership Studies. She also attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham and received a Masters in Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kemonia works with attachment and trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief in children, adolescents, and adults.

Kemonia has an integrative approach to counseling considering factors from theology, psychology, and neurology as important parts of her counseling approach. Kemonia has a passion for meeting clients where they are and helping them gain appropriate skills for change and healing.

Kemonia is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Theraplay, Play Therapy, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Principles, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Prepare and Enrich, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

She has three sisters and a sweet dog named Brenton! Kemonia loves going to church, hiking, jogging, cooking, art, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. Her 3 simple joys are: Drinking coffee in the morning, smelling candles, and walking her dog. “I love the wonderful community at Lifeline and the opportunity to share the gospel with every family I work with.”
