Katie began working with Lifeline in 2017 as an Adoption Social Worker and Pregnancy Counselor in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, she served international and domestic adoptive families and women facing unplanned pregnancies. She holds a Bachelors of Social Work from North Carolina State University and a Masters of Social Work from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. She has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2016. In 2020, Katie transitioned to Lifeline’s Counseling team as a Family Therapist. She has experience working with adults and children with common challenges related to adoption and foster care, such as trauma, attachment difficulties, grief, anxiety, and depression. Katie uses principles from Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Theraplay in her work with families. She has also been educated in Corrective Attachment Therapy and Prepare and Enrich and trained through North Carolina’s Child Welfare Collaborative to work with children in foster care. Katie loves caring for and bringing hope to adoptive and foster children and their families though effective therapeutic solutions. She serves families out of our office located in Cary, North Carolina.
