My name is JonEllen Blanco and I am from Florence, Alabama. I currently reside in Birmingham where I live with my husband, Salvador.

I have been on staff with Lifeline since May 2022. I am currently working as the Domestic Intake Coordinator. I assist the Domestic team in maintaining correspondences with families post adoption, planning and scheduling, answering the pregnancy helpline, making referrals, and completing any other task to ensure that the Domestic team can efficiently support our families!

I attended college at the University of North Alabama where I graduated with a Bachelors in Social Work in May 2020.

My husband Salvador and I have been together since we were 16 years old and have been married since 2021. We are an interracial couple and are always learning about each other’s culture, family history, and traditions.

What I am doing on a perfect weekend evening.

On a perfect weekend evening I would be preparing a meal with my husband, Salvador. After enjoying our meal, we would go out for ice cream at Jeni’s or Big Spoon Creamery and meet up with friends!

What do you do when you are not at Lifeline?

When I am not at Lifeline, I enjoy exercising, reading, listening to podcasts, and baking sweets for friends and family to enjoy!

My favorite scripture is Romans 8:31-32 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”
