Candi Gibson

Hi I’m Candi Gibson. I began serving with Lifeline Children Services in October 2021 as Harbor Families Coordinator, a ministry I am passionate for. To share a little back history, I was born and raised in Amory, MS and graduated High School in Starkville, MS. I moved with my family to LaGrange, GA in the early 90’s where I met my best friend and husband, Brian Gibson and graduated college from the University of West Georgia with a BA in Psychology/Sociology. Brian and I have been married for 23 years and have two beautiful daughters that amaze us daily with their faith and love for Jesus. I majored in Psychology and Sociology with the asperations of ‘changing the world’ through social service. My first job in my career was with my church as their very first secretary, where I learned to serve without expectations or visible changes to circumstances. Since then, I have served children and families in crisis in different capacities for over 25 years. My previous experience started with the Department of Family and Children Services to recently leading a child hosting program throughout the state of Georgia. A little over 15 years ago, God placed a passion and a burden to help see ‘the Church return to the helm of social service.’ It was a call that has increased with severity; and a journey that has shown His faithfulness with His constant confirmations. This passion is what lead me to Lifeline Children Services where I serve as Harbor Families Coordinator. Lifeline empowers God’s Church for Biblical hospitality (social service) and leads with a solid gospel mission. Lifeline’s mission and vision has renewed my passion, energy, and confidence to see this great work through for God’s Glory.

What I am doing on a perfect weekend evening.

We enjoy spending as much time together as a family as possible. With a 4th grader and senior in high school, our weekends are filled with lots of cheerleading, tennis and basketball camps, horseback riding lessons, researching and visiting colleges, and making time for rest and renewal in Christ.

What do you do when you are not at Lifeline?

I love to garden and dabble in a little farming when time permits.

Favorite scripture or quote.

Matthew 25, the whole chapter has been a constant reminder to me that Jesus identifies us by our acts of hospitality. It is not by ‘works’, but through the love and passion from the Holy Spirit living in and through us. And Revelation 19:8 explains that our robes are woven in righteous acts.
