Family Therapist

Ashley joined the Lifeline staff in 2011. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Mobile. She also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama, and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Ashley was a Post Adoption Coordinator with Lifeline for a number of years before transitioning into her role as a Crossings Therapist. She enjoys serving in this capacity with families at Lifeline. Ashley has experience working with children and adults facing attachment difficulties, trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, anger, identity issues and providing parenting and marriage assistance. Ashley is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) Practitioner and uses Theraplay® principles in her therapeutic work with children and families. She has also been educated in principles of Corrective Attachment Therapy, Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Attachment-Focused Therapy. She has counseled families related to international and domestic adoption as well as foster care. Ashley also aids in the development of educational resources at Lifeline including Crossings International Adoption Training.
