Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

Position Summary: 

Establishes initial contact with prospective adoptive families for the International, Domestic and Foster Care programs

Essential Duties: 

International Adoption

  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners 
  • Helps recruit, enroll, maintain, and work with prospective adoptive parents in processing an international adoption 
  • May conduct home studies, if permitted by state regulation.   
  • Assures all paperwork and documentation complies with international country’s standards 
  • Ensures that all information needed to complete the adoption record is completed and on file prior to the date of submission of dossier  
  • Schedules/completes post-adoption/placement visits after placement of child  
  • Works through the adoption process with families until they travel to the international country, including fielding questions, following up with a phone call, and completing all applicable paperwork and communication necessary to prepare family to travel overseas
  • Counseling clients/families on the nature of international adoption
  • Assisting the international director, supervisor, manager, and coordinators with various tasks assigned in process of international adoption
  • Helps international staff with international informational meetings 
  • Completes home assessments for contract couples as assigned and needed

Domestic Adoption

  • Serves as the initial contact with prospective adoptive families
  • Assists in the recruitment of prospective adoptive families
  • Works with prospective adoptive families throughout the adoption process and conducts home assessments which includes
  • Helps conduct informational meetings for couples interested in adoption

Foster Care

  • Raises awareness on program and also recruits, works with, interviews, assesses, and supports foster families as this program grows.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in events and other area development as assigned
  • Manages and supports interns in local office as needed
  • Maintains good relationships with co-workers, including solving all disputes in a Biblically prescribed fashion 
  • Represents the Agency in a professional manner in and away from the office
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s in Social Work or Bachelor’s in Human Services 
  • One year of work experience in related field

Work Environment: 

  • Office environment or remote setting
  • Travel would include family visits and home assessments in order to complete the Home Study  

State Specific Requirements: 

  • Complete annual training/CEU’s as determined by State regulations and Hague requirements, whichever is greater.
