Lifeline’s Lasting Legacy: Celebrating 1,500 Adoptions
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 12, 2025—This National Adoption Month, Lifeline Children’s Services celebrates a significant milestone: 1,500 domestic infant adoptions completed through its ministry. This achievement highlights Lifeline’s enduring commitment to biblical adoption and its mission to walk faithfully alongside vulnerable children and the families who welcome them.
For more than 44 years, Lifeline has seen the life-changing power of adoption firsthand. Each story represents not only a child finding a forever home but also experiencing the beauty of God’s design for family and redemption.
One story that captures this legacy is that of Rebecca, who was the 13th child adopted through Lifeline. Deeply shaped by her own adoption, Rebecca and her husband later chose to adopt their son through Lifeline as well, and he became the organization’s 1,000th adoption. This story embodies the generational impact of adoption and the ripple effect of love that adoption spurs.
Lifeline’s president and executive director Herbie Newell said, “Each of these 1,500 adoptions tells a bigger story—one of the gospel taking root in families and communities. Families are not built by blood alone, and this milestone represents a growing movement in our nation to refuse to let the vulnerable be overlooked. Adoption doesn’t just change one life; it reshapes generations. As we look ahead, we do so with confidence in God’s direction and deep gratitude for His faithfulness. He has led us this far, and we trust Him to continue guiding our steps as we serve children and families around the world.”
