August 11, 2026: Lifeline Children’s Services laments the passage of a Massachusetts law that expands access to abortion up to birth. It is deeply troubling to see legislation that fails to recognize the inherent dignity and worth of an unborn child celebrated with smiles and applause.
“Every child, from the moment of conception, is created in the image of God and possesses immeasurable dignity and worth. The circumstances surrounding a pregnancy do not diminish the value of the child, nor should a child’s life be treated as disposable,” said Herbie Newell, president and executive director of Lifeline Children’s Services.
“There are millions of families who would willingly open their homes and welcome a child as their son or daughter. We want women facing unexpected or difficult pregnancies to know they are not alone and that there are people ready to walk alongside them with compassion, practical support and hope.”
