November 11, 2025: Lifeline Children’s Services is saddened that, amid the many pressing global issues before President Trump and President Xi, the Chinese adoption crisis did not appear to be addressed during their recent meeting. For more than five years, hundreds of families have held hope in their hearts, longing to be united with the children they already consider their own.
Throughout these 6 years, Lifeline Children’s Services, along with many others, has prayed, petitioned, and advocated tirelessly for these children and their families. Today, we acknowledge with heavy hearts that this may mark a significant turning point in their journey.
“While this moment may signal the closing of this particular door, our commitment to advocating for vulnerable children has not diminished,” said Herbie Newell, president and executive director of Lifeline. “We remain steadfast in our belief that every child deserves to feel the adoptive love of Christ and the security of a family. We will continue working to make that hope a reality wherever the door remains open.”
Lifeline remains committed to supporting these families in their grief, praying with them, and advocating for children in every nation where pathways to family remain possible. Our mission continues: to bring gospel-driven compassion, excellence, and advocacy to vulnerable children worldwide.
