July 2, 2026: As our nation prepares to celebrate 250 years of the promise of life and liberty this Independence Day, Lifeline Children’s Services calls on the President and Congress to protect the lives and safeguard the future liberty of the unborn by permanently ending Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood before the current funding restriction expires this Saturday.
“This is an opportunity for the White House and Congress to reaffirm their commitment to protecting life and supporting women, children, and families with compassionate, life-affirming care,” said Herbie Newell, president and executive director of Lifeline Children’s Services. “It is an opportunity to invest in alternatives that protect life through adoption, foster care, and family restoration. Life and the sanctity of life is the very foundation of any nation and country. If the United States does not defend the most vulnerable lives by permanently defunding Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, then we are effectively defeating our republic at the expense of taxpayers.”
Lifeline believes every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity and worth from conception. Organizations like Planned Parenthood promote an ideology that directly opposes the biblical truth that every person is made in the image of God. No taxpayer dollar should be forced to support organizations whose mission and practices are fundamentally at odds with that conviction.
