December 9, 2025: Lifeline Children’s Services celebrates the introduction of the Conscience Protections for Medical Residents Act, introduced by U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and James Lankford (R-OK), which ensures that medical students and residents are not pressured or coerced to participate in abortion training that violates their deeply held moral or religious convictions.
As an organization committed to the sanctity of life and steadfast in our defense of religious liberty, we view this legislation as a vital step in protecting both the lives of the unborn and the conscience rights of the physicians who care for them.
We urge federal lawmakers to advance this measure, recognizing that safeguarding conscience rights enables physicians to practice with integrity, honor the Hippocratic Oath, and continue providing compassionate, life-affirming care to women and families.
