Recruiting Coordinator

Status: Full-time

Location: Birmingham, AL

Position Summary: Contributes to the recruiting and development of a gospel-centered, employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, high performance, and the Gospel of Christ. 

Responsibilities: 

  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners  
  • Actively pursues a gospel-centered, employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, high performance, and the Gospel of Christ through recruitment and hiring. 
  • Conducts employment related research and assists HR team with acquiring and maintaining quality employees to further the mission of the organization. 
  • Provides coordination of recruitment projects and related services to Hiring Managers and the HR Team. 
  • Participates in and provides analytical support in design, development, and implementation of recruitment projects and programs. 
  • Creates and enforces a recruiting plan; may partner with other departments for expanded recruiting needs 
  • Updates and writes job descriptions and posts our website and on appropriate job boards 
  • Maintains a file of accurate job descriptions for use by Hiring Managers or others on HR Team 
  • Screens incoming resumes to determine qualification, interest level and cultural fit of the organization 
  • Conducts pre-screen interviews by phone or in person when needed 
  • Refers appropriate candidates to hiring manager. 
  • Maintains interview and hiring records of candidates thorough the recruitment process, from scheduling interviews to bringing new employees onboard. 
  • Works closely with job candidates helping to facilitate communications and scheduling 
  • Assists HR Director as needed with hiring paperwork and information packets 
  • Assists HR Director as needed with orientation of new employees 
  • Represents and promotes organization at job fairs, recruiting events and open houses; prepares information packets and gather qualified job seekers’ contact information. 
  • Participates in HR department meetings; may also interact with department heads, and other managers and staff to coordinate the recruitment and hiring of new employees. 
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of recruitment, employment, and other related organizational policies, practices, procedures, and/or regulations. 
  • Serves as resource for recruitment policies, procedures, and practices to supervisors, HR staff, and others. 
  • Handles and prioritizes multiple ranges of advanced administrative duties with wide latitude for independent judgment and initiative. 
  • Assists with identifying issues affecting recruitment and implementing recruitment activities to continuously improve process. 
  • Assists with the execution of the annual Employee Staff Retreat. 

Secondary Responsibilities: 

  • Assists in agency related events 
  • Maintains good relationships with co-workers, including solving all disputes in a Biblically prescribed manner 
  • Represents the agency in a professional manner in and away from the office 
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Executive Director and/or the Leadership Team

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s Degree or at least two years of undergraduate work or two years of work in a Human Resources related position 
  • Prefer candidates with degree in Human Resources 
  • Candidates with PR or Marketing experience a plus but not required 

Work Environment: 

  • Work is performed in a professional office environment
