Kansas Nurse Manager

Position Summary:

The Nurse Manager provides support and care to the clients and maintains professional standards of care, following the American Nursing Association Code of Ethics.  Under the general supervision of the KS State Director, the Nurse Coordinator is responsible for overseeing sonographers, planning, assessing and monitoring the sonogram services of Lifeline Children Services.  The Nurse Manager also works in conjunction with Pregnancy Counselors, to assure that clients are receiving the best medical and spiritual care possible.

Essential Duties:

  • To be a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ to co-workers, clients and ministry partners
  • Oversee training and orientation of Lifeline’s medical team volunteers.
  • Assist in the development of policies and procedures for sonogram services and STI testing, along with any other medical service in-line with Lifeline’s mission in regard to Lifeline Children Service’s Kansas Center.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of nursing methods, principles and practices in relation to the prevention and treatment of disease, safety and infection control, clinical systems, supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to be trained by Lifeline staff to perform Options Counseling with expectant mothers.
  • Assure compliance with infection control guidelines.
  • Work directly with State Director in scheduling needed trainings for sonographers to provide limited sonograms.
  • Conduct and oversee the limited obstetrical ultrasounds.
  • Maintain accurate records, care-plans and follow-through on physician’s orders.
  • Oversee patient follow-up per patient care-plan and standardized procedures.
  • Assist in the recruitment qualified medical team volunteers to meet the needs of the Kansas center
  • Increase knowledge of management, obstetrical and gynecological care and women’s health issues by attending Medical training through continuing professional education

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains good working relationships with the state directors, leadership and staff, including resolving all disputes in a Biblically prescribed fashion.
  • Represents the ministry in a professional manner in and away from the office.
  • Assisting in agency-related events, including the annual staff retreat, the annual dinner, anniversary celebrations, etc
  • Maintains professional Registered Nurse’s License and state-required annual training hours
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Holds a current Registered Nurse’s license in good standing with the Kansas Medical Board

State Specific Requirements:

  • Holds a current Registered Nurse’s license in good standing with the Kansas Medical Board
