THANK YOU for considering becoming a foster or respite parent!

Foster parenting is not an easy task. We are incredibly grateful for your interest in this mission field and your willingness to serve children, their families, and the Child Welfare System. At times, the tasks may seem tedious. We pray God’s truth and presence will encourage and renew you as you serve Him in this way.

God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them. – Hebrews 6:10

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. – 1 Corinthians 15:58

The first step to becoming a foster parent is to attend an orientation meeting. This meeting does not commit you to fostering, but is a great place to learn more.

If you decide to pursue the licensure process, a 10-week foster parent training course follows. Through the course you will learn more about Lifeline’s Foster Care program, our partnership with DHR, the various requirements for licensure, including state-mandated training, the home study process, and Minimum Standards for Foster Homes.
