Foster and Adoptive Parent Education: Post Placement Blues

Though often misunderstood and even overlooked, post-placement blues are commonly felt by foster parents and parents through adoption. While everyone experiences child placements differently, it is not unusual for caregivers to struggle with negative emotions following a child’s move into their home. Knowing that the blues touch many families following placement can diminish parental isolation and start the process of healing. “Post-Placement Blues – Coming Out of the Shadows” is designed to shed light on common myths surrounding adoption and foster care placements and to emphasize the need for Christian community.
