CEU: Parenting Children with Sexual Reactivity
August 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm CDT
Parents are often scared and uncomfortable when they observe sexual reactivity in children. The topic of sexuality instills fear and trembling in many, and parents often find themselves ill equipped to address this topic with their biological children, let alone with children that may have experienced harm in this way in the past. This CE seeks to educate, empower, and equip parents to understand why a child may engage in these behaviors and what to do to help. Parents will hear a new way to think about their child’s behavior, as well as learn practical strategies for how to respond. Additionally, parents will hear how to set expectations and boundaries in such a way that will help to set their children up for success in their homes from the beginning of a placement.
