Country: Pakistan

Serving Pakistan Through Lifeline

Pakistan, one of the world’s most populous countries, faces many issues including poverty, corruption, and most notably, terrorism. While the country has made progress in improving its poverty rates, in many areas some of the children are still vulnerable to slavery because of the families they’re born into.

About Pakistan

Through a local U.S. contact, (un)adopted was introduced to a girls’ home in Pakistan and began a partnership shortly thereafter. The home is run by a native Pakistani couple — with the husband leading a local church and directing a small community of churches in the area. The home currently cares for 38 orphaned or vulnerable girls and serves much like a hostel, where the girls live at the home during the school year, but return to their villages during summer or winter breaks. The overall ministry is doing amazing things in this South Asian country, including setting brick slaves free, sharing the hope of the gospel with hundreds of people each day through Bible studies, offering hope to girls who are at high risk because of their home situations, and trusting God to move mountains in a country that is extremely hostile toward Christians.

How You Can Help

In Pakistan, (un)adopted® partners with Developing Hope to help support a girls’ home and four sewing centers. Through the girls’ home, 36 girls are provided with a place to live, learn and grow in a loving and caring environment. The directors of the home intentionally pour into the lives of the girls and, because of their love and leadership, the girls are thriving under their care. Developing Hope and (un)adopted have also partnered in opening four sewing centers in Pakistan in an effort to reach vulnerable women in the community. We have also seen two churches planted and developed alongside this ministry to orphaned and vulnerable girls in Pakistan. We continue to see many women’s lives impacted through the center as they learn of their value in the Lord and also are equipped with life and job skills that will serve them long term.
