Blitz: Facing the Fears of Foster Care
Saturday, February 9, 2019
8:15 AM – 2:00 PM
Briarwood Presbyterian Church (Birmingham)
We hope you will join us on Saturday, February 9 for our upcoming Blitz as we discuss some of the harder topics in foster care. This training is designed to help dismantle fears that many foster parents have. Our topics will cover: caring for a child who has experienced sexual abuse or who has inappropriate sexual behaviors; learning how to handle allegations and what are some practical steps you can take to protect yourself and your child; fostering older children; mental health among children in care. Our desire through this training is to equip you with skills to be able to handle these situations if they arise. We will also give practical tips on how to educate your extended family, church, and support network about foster care. We hope to see you there!
Lunch and childcare will be provided. This Blitz is worth 5 CEU credits. Each adult must be registered by February 1st to reserve your spot. Please indicate how many children you have below for childcare and lunch to be provided for them at no extra charge.
