And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. | As believers, we know the hope of Christmas fuels us for anything we may face today and in the future. Even in a world full of pain and suffering, we know that the God of the universe humbled Himself to be born as a baby in order to take our pain and pay the price for our sin, while offering true hope. Sin entered into the world when man rebelled against God in the garden. This first transgression led to ultimate corruption, pain, and misery. It is because of our sin and brokenness that we live in a world with orphans and vulnerable children. It is our rebellious sin which ushered in a society where children would be neglected, abandoned, and lost. Our sin and the fall of man is what brought forth a world where children would be aborted for convenience, children would be neglected and orphaned, and families would be broken. So now as Image Bearers of God living with the hope of Christmas, we live out gospel-centered justice in order to defend life, bring restoration, and seek redemption for all that sin has broken. This Christmas, we cling to the promise of God that He gives us peace through Jesus. At Lifeline, we hold fast to the promises of God. As 2022 comes to a close and we prepare for 2023, we will keep worshipping a God who always keeps His Word. May the God of all creation give us true peace and purpose as we continually reflect His glory to the vulnerable until His return. Merry Christmas, |
