Why did I donate to Lifeline’s Kids Camp? Because they had me with their SMILES!
The smiles of the children when they chase bubbles across the lawn;
The smiles of the children when they climb up in the volunteers lap and snuggle close;
The smiles of the children when they are the center of attention for their birthday celebration;
The smiles of the children when they catch their first fish;
The smiles of the children when they feel loved;
The smiles of the children when they look in the eyes of their new parents;
The smiles of the children when they feel safe and secure in the arms of their new family;
The smiles of the families as they welcome home their sweet son or daughter;
The smiles of the parents as they discover the child that completes their family;
The smile on God’s face as He watches His children being loved and cared for and taught about His plan for their life.
I love to follow the picture story of the children at Kids Camp. The awe and uncertainty on their faces in the first picture at the airport soon fades to excitement, delight and pure joy as they are loved on and celebrated during their weeks in the States. I love seeing their personalities emerge as they begin to feel comfortable and safe in their surroundings. God teaches that His plan is for every child to be loved as He loves. What an amazing opportunity these camps provide us to have a part in serving God by serving His children. Whether by volunteering, donating, or praying, we are blessed to be a part of ministry of Lifeline. The financial obligation that Lifeline takes on in faith every time they commit to host a camp is a testimony of obedience to the Lord and complete reliance on His work in the hearts of the donors. Responding to God’s prompting to give is our way of following His call for obedience to use the gifts He has so richly provided to our family to bless the lives of others. What joy we have in being a part of God’s ministry through Lifeline to children and families!
Oh, and did I mention those SMILES!
