Our (un)adopted team is beyond thankful for all of the support we had at our first annual r(un) for one. We were in awe and humbled by all of the support and love from those in the community and those who traveled long and far to be a part of this special day. To say that the Lord exceeded our expectations is an understatement. To have 500 people participating in a 5k/fun run to raise awareness for the (un)adopted is something that fills our team with abundant thankfulness. We cannot say thank you enough for everyone who ran for the (un)adopted.
Our prayer is that all who ran, supported, and volunteered saw what the Lord is doing around the world to care for His children. 153 million orphans may seem like an overwhelming number, but we worship a big God, a God who created each and every one of them, and who knows them by name. As the Gospel is proclaimed through partnerships and programs that God has provided, our prayer is that these precious children will place their hope in the Father who loves them unconditionally.
“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” Psalm 82:3-4
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.” John 14:18-21
