Ordinary People Making an Extraordinary Difference

with sponsor

UNICEF tells us that there are 153 Million orphans around the world. The number of hurting and vulnerable children here and around the world is breathtaking. The reality is almost too big to grasp. The enormity of the number tends to depersonalize the struggle and can lead to a sense of helplessness.

What if we were to shift our focus to a more important number? What if we shifted our focus to the number one? The truth is that the world’s population of orphaned and vulnerable children is not a nameless and faceless mass. They are a collection of children who are made in the Image of God who lack a voice and lack an ability to change their circumstances. Not only does each of these children have a unique story of abandonment or loss, but they also have dreams of a life of love and security. Each one needs our help, and there is something that everyone can do to be part of their story of restoration and redemption. God is stirring among His people in new and powerful ways to go to these children in their distress and bring to them tangible help and the ultimate hope found only in the gospel.

On October 25, Lifeline Children’s Services will host its 14th Annual Dinner Event, Share the Story: A Light in the Darkness. This evening will be an inspirational look into the stories of several individuals and families, to see how Christ and His Church has rewritten their story through adoption, foster care, orphan care, or education. The night will be filled with the testimonies of ordinary people who are making an extraordinary difference in the life of a hurting child or a vulnerable family. Lifeline wants to invite you to come and hear these stories of transformation and to learn how you can be part of rewriting the story for one.

Share the Story: A Light in the Darkness will be held On October 25th at the Birmingham Sheraton Hotel. A silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the program at 6:30 p.m. to learn more about how you can register to attend or become involved in the ministry of Lifeline, contact Krisha Yanko at (205) 967-0811 or [email protected]
