Parenting Children with a History of Sexual Abuse




Join us as we discuss the many transitions in foster care and how to adapt to them. This training is designed to help foster families understand the importance of navigating transitions well. Also covered will be practical tips to help a child adjust to changes – whether moving to your home, moving from your home, or other life events.



Jennifer Travis_Square

Jennifer Travis: Jennifer Travis holds a Bachelors in Social Work from the University of Alabama and a Masters in Social Work from Tulane University. Jennifer joined the Lifeline team in December 2014 after a decade of work in foster care, family preservation, and homeless prevention and intervention. She is passionate about advocating and caring for the vulnerable and is excited that the Lord has allowed her to do this through Lifeline. She currently lives in Birmingham, AL with her husband John.





Laura Tatum_Square

Laura Tatom: Laura graduated from Troy University with her Bachelors of Social Work in 2012. Through an internship with the Department of Human Resources, she felt called to work in foster care.  She has always had a passion for children and the Gospel, and is thankful Lifeline allows her to combine her calling and her passions. Since joining Lifeline’s staff in 2013, she has been blessed by the families and children she has encountered through foster care.
